The Rules

Function
The Quote Generator converses via quotation in daily life.

Delivery
The Quote Generator reads aloud the quote in its ordinary speaking voice, not in character. The quote is always followed by a spoken reference. The Quote Generator does not generally inform audience members that they are seeing a performance except where other people inform the audience first or where documentation is shown.

Phases
Completed Phase One: Quotes via commercial products whose authors are people the Generator does not know. e.g. quotes from films, books, advertisements, lyrics, etc. Duration: Eighteen months originally with an additional four months for database collection, writing, editing, organization, memorization. Total Time: 22 months completed

Started Phase Two: Quotes from people the Generator has interacted with directly, e.g family, friends, lecturers, guy at Turkish shop down the street. Duration: 12 months originally with an additional 4 months for database collection, writing, editing, organization, memorization. Total Time: 16 months to complete

Phase Three: Quotes from the Generator as first person in the past, quotes must be at least one month old or older. It cannot quote from the present. Duration: Originally 6 months with an additional 4 months for database collection, writing, editing, organization, memorization. Total Time: 10 months to complete

* Times between phases (research time) are chosen once a phase comes to a conclusion. Each phase needs a different amount of time for preparation. Once a phase ends, Freakley speaks normally until the next phase begins.

Collection, Organization and Memorization
The quotes chosen must be congruent with the Quote Generator’s genuine personal tastes, and feelings. The database is updated on an ongoing basis. The Quote Generator does not choose phrases at random, it responds to its context like any regular person in conversation. The quotes are categorized, subcategorised through reference, topic, source and manner with pictures to aid memorization. Quotes are also woven in default conversations which are prescribed anticipated conversation in practice for real conversation.

Quote Generator Database
In the First Phase, The Quote Generator database was originally accessed from a harness was a specialized jacket designed with fold out expanding file pockets filed with labelled quotes for conversation. The files were then formatted into a book carried everywhere. For phase, the quotes are accessed through a palmheld computer database program.

Off Zones
The Quote Generator will not have to speak in quotes at home, in work situations, blunt organizational situations (e.g. airport customs) or with people whom it has spent more than 100 hours in conversation with in private (only exempt in private.) All other times it converses in quote. However limited times not spoken in quote for the first and second phase can eventually become quotes for the third phase (where quotes are spoken from the self in the past) as a result, there is no real non-quoteworthy time "off".
